2010 Holiday Ornament from The Rusted Chain

There is something about annual Holiday Ornaments that catch my attention.  I love this one from The Rusted Chain because it is simple and beautiful.  Each one is stamped with their exclusive swirls, topped with a sparkling crystal and strung with silvery pewter velvet.

The ornament can be completely personalized (up to 22 characters).  Here are some suggestions outside the the traditional 'Christmas 2010' and 'Baby's First Christmas':
~Merry and Bright 2010
~Peace Joy Love 2010
~Blessed 2010

Priced at $20 (plus shipping) but use the Penguin's Gift exclusive discount code penguin20 for 20% off through November 30!

***Keep in mind everything from The Rusted Chain is created/stamped by hand.

First Communion gift ideas

It seems like every April a First Communion invitation arrives in our mailbox. We are currently in the stretch of my husband's nephews and niece, before that it was my nephews and niece (yes, we still divide them by 'yours' and 'mine' - all but one were born before we were married), and before them it was extended family. It is hard to believe that in a few years it will be me sending out the invitations for my older daughter.

Here is my list of gift ideas for First Communions.

House of Wisdom

Remember this post about my love of giving prints? Well, I can finally share with you the print that was waiting to be given ... its from hope ink on Etsy.

We gave the House of Wisdom print (8x10 for $25 and free shipping) to my husband's sister and her family as a housewarming gift. Needless to say they love it! I think its perfect for a newly built home as well as one that has been established by loving family for many years. This would also make a great Mother's Day gift because really, every mom is proud of the home she has created for her family.

While you are visiting hope ink's Etsy shop be sure to check out their other wonderful prints, including the Sweet Flower print that was featured here in February.

Sweet Flower print

Want to know why I've been so focused on little girl gift ideas? Two friends had little girls in January and I've gotten to cuddle with each of them recently. Ah, nothing like squishy, cute new babies! So ideas for baby girls have been on my mind ...

Yesterday I saw this print at Hope Ink's etsy shop and fell in love. It is a personalized 16 x 20 inch print (offered in different color combinations) perfect for little girls of just about any age. This would be a great idea for birth, baptism/christening, birthdays, etc.

Around the petals of the flower Psalms 139 is printed:
The Sweet Flower print is $55 with free shipping. Visit Hope Ink's etsy shop here for lots of other personalized, beautiful, and inspiring artwork.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well ... all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
