The kids love the princess game you suggested, the digital camera, new leapster games, and a combination of zoob/trio/legos so they can build. I loved giving ADP a telescope, unfortunately it's been cloudy since Christmas. I can't wait to read what others gave/received this holiday.
Thanks for your many great ideas! Santa gave the girls Hullabaloo...can't wait to play it:) The Tag Reader has been a big hit, as well. We gave the grandparents gifts from Shutterfly: a photo album and a calendar featuring pictures of the girls & their cousins thru the year...fun to make & fun to give. I was thrilled to receive a video camera and was even more thrilled at how easy it is to use! Thanks again & Happy 2010:)
Automoblox (love these!), the board game Hiss, and a Transformer robot/car (I thought these had no educational merit, but are great for fine motor skills!) were the most played with out of all.
We loved giving the handmade felt pins from Martha Stewart's website. These really do turn out beautifully - very professional! - and they are truly made from scraps! (http://pumpkinpetunia.blogspot.com/2009/12/gifts-from-heart.html)
I received this beautiful leather camera bag that I just love. It's so pretty, it can definitely double as a purse! http://www.shop.jill-e.com/product.sc?productId=5&categoryId=2
Beatles Rockband and a plasma car were also big hits. As was the American Girl-sized Armoire from Target (which is a total bargain at only $60!!)
Also, thank you for introducing me to Sara the Savvy Shopper. Great blog that has saved me tons!
