Okay, something else has been added to my Holiday Wish List:  A Petal Drop Necklace from The Pleated Poppy!

These unique necklaces are made by placing a swatch of fabric behind a beautiful chandelier crystal, then hanging the crystal from an antiqued copper chain.  I love the balance of sweet, feminine with the industrial feel of the copper chain.

V and Co.

Christmas is less then three months away!  Yes, its still early fall.  Most of us are just now thinking of Halloween and Thanksgiving feels like forever away.  But now is the time to get a jump start on Christmas gifts!  Lots of people are going back to simple, made-with-love gifts (which I love to give and receive!).  If you are looking to make a few gifts for this holiday season and love playing with fabric, then I have a great shop for you - V and Co.

Last week I purchase the pdf file for the Fabric Bracelet pictured above.  I haven't made the bracelet yet but even a craft/sewing-challenged person like me can tackle this project.  The instructions are very clear with color photos and step-by-step instructions.

I think this pillow would be a amazing gift using one of the Moda Jelly Rolls, even a Christmas Jelly Roll.  (I'm in love with Moda fabric right now!)

I am a scarf lover!  There is nothing like receiving a great winter scarf.  Using the pdf file from V and Co. you can make beautiful embellished scarves for just about every gal on your holiday list.

Oh, I would love an arrangement of these Decorative Balls displayed in my house!  Just think of all the holiday or decor themed combinations you could create.

All of these pdf files are priced at just $6.99 each!  And there are lots more at V and Co.  Also, check out V and Co.'s blog where Vanessa shares her uber-crafty ideas.

Have fun making gifts for the special people in your life!!

Cake Pops

I can't help but get caught up in the buzz about Bakerella's new book Cake Pops.  I'm not a Bakerella follower but I think her cake pops are the cutest things ever!  Once my daughter sees the cookbook we will be busy making cake pops, and more cake pops, and even more cake pops.

This book is the perfect gift for so many.  The photography alone is worth the price!  Not to mention all the tips and tricks that are said to be included.  Priced at around $12 from Amazon.

(I've added it to my Christmas Wish List!)

Do You Doodle?

A few friends recommended Do You Doodle? last winter and I ordered it just before a forecasted snow storm.  I can't tell you how happy I was that it arrived before we were snowed in for what seemed like weeks.  We spent *lots* of time with this book when we weren't shoveling and playing in the snow.  Months later my older daughter still loves to pull out 'The Doodle Book' as she calls it.

This isn't your typical coloring book.  Its more like an interactive coloring book that your child can create and complete the pages themselves.  On each page the author begins with a rough idea and prompts the child to finish with their drawings and creativity.  And Do You Doodle? is a nice sized coloring book with over 200 pages!

You know its a good thing with the author has created similar themed books which include The Girls' Doodle Book, The Boys' Doodle Book, Beautiful Doodles, and Fabulous Doodles -- all priced under $10 at Amazon.  Pair one of these books with a set of colored pencils for a fun and affordable gift for a child on your gift list.

Portland Beanie Company

I've told you about the Portland Beanie Company before.  Run, don't walk, to their Etsy shop and order one for each head in your house!  Yes, they make these great knit hats for adults too.  Then order a few more for baby gifts.

And a few more for birthdays and the upcoming Holiday season.  All of their beanies are so stinkin' cute!

You won't be disappointed! I was very impressed with my order last year.

Want to see beanies in action?  Check out my friend Ali's 365 blog where you can see her beautiful children wearing their Portland Beanie Company beanies!
